Mind Over Maths

Welcome to Tea Cake Maths Relax! We will be exploring the connection between maths and mindfulness. You might be thinking, “What do maths and mindfulness have in common?” Well, both require focus and attention to detail. By practising mindfulness, you can improve your ability to concentrate and solve maths problems.

Many people experience anxiety when faced with maths problems. This is known as maths phobia, and it can be a major obstacle to learning. But don’t worry, you’re not alone! Our course is specifically designed to help those who are petrified of maths. We’ll provide you with the tools and support you need to overcome your fears and develop a positive attitude towards maths.

Maths is all around us! From calculating the distance between two points to measuring ingredients for a recipe, maths is an essential part of daily life. By learning to recognise the maths in everyday situations, you can develop a deeper appreciation for the subject.

Before we dive into the course material, we’ll provide you with a pre-course task to get you thinking about maths and mindfulness. This task will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, and give you a better understanding of your own attitudes towards maths. We’ll also be sending you a questionnaire to fill in online, which will help us tailor the course to your individual needs.
